emirates7 - The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced that Youth MMA Championship 9 will take place this Saturday at Al Nasr Club in Dubai. The event will host over 100 male and female athletes, aged 12 to 17, representing various clubs and academies across the UAE.
The championship aims to provide a platform for young athletes to compete at a high level, allowing them to sharpen their skills and challenge themselves against top talent in the local MMA scene.
Mohammed Bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member and Chairman of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee at the Federation, stated, “Organizing the Youth MMA Championship is part of the Federation’s strategy to nurture emerging talent and develop a new generation of athletes capable of representing the UAE and excelling in regional and international arenas.”
He further added, “This championship highlights the strong collaboration between the Federation and local clubs, working together to train and prepare athletes to the highest standards. These efforts reflect a clear vision for the future of mixed martial arts, enhancing the UAE’s reputation as a hub for cultivating and supporting champions.”
Mansour Al Zaabi, a 16-year-old competing in the 56 kg category for Team Nogueira Dubai Academy, shared his excitement, saying, “This championship is a valuable opportunity for me and my peers to test our skills against high-caliber opponents. These challenging matches are crucial for improving our abilities, preparing us for future events, and building confidence to face tougher competition.”
