It played a crucial role in improving the legislative framework to support Sharjah’s development goals, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Council reviewed and approved 10 draft laws spanning several vital sectors. Additionally, it addressed four major public concerns related to different government bodies, including the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, the Sharjah Health Authority, the Department of Economic Development, and the Sharjah International Airport Authority. These topics were discussed in detail with representatives from the concerned entities. Council members raised 194 direct questions during these sessions, showcasing their dedication to scrutinising government performance and ensuring the proper execution of recommendations.

As part of its oversight responsibilities, the Council also addressed two parliamentary questions. Member Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden inquired about Emiratisation in the private sector, while member Hamad Abdulwahab Al Qouadi focused on the promotion process within the Sharjah Police and Security Force.
These collective efforts led to the adoption of 25 comprehensive recommendations aimed at supporting Sharjah’s continued progress and improving the quality of life for its residents.
On the committee level, the Council’s various internal committees held 43 focused meetings to explore specialised issues in depth. They also conducted 41 field visits to different governmental and non-governmental institutions across the emirate to gather firsthand information and assess real-world service conditions.
In parallel, the Council Office—chaired by the Council President and composed of committee heads—held four meetings to align and coordinate legislative and parliamentary strategies.
