UAE: Scorching temperatures as mercury soars to 49°C

emirates7 - The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a heat alert as the country experiences intense temperatures today, with inland areas forecast to reach between 44°C and 49°C.

Coastal and island regions are expected to see temperatures ranging from 37°C to 42°C, while mountain areas will be relatively cooler, with highs between 32°C and 38°C.

The weather will be partly to mostly cloudy at times, with low clouds expected along the eastern coast. Humidity is set to rise during the night and into Monday morning, especially in coastal zones.

Winds will range from light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh, blowing from the southwest to northwest at 10–20 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 35 km/h. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Authorities are urging the public to stay well-hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and follow official weather updates.
