Inaugural Snow Duathlon in Dubai draws strong participation

emirates7 - The first-ever Snow Duathlon, a pioneering event in the region, wrapped up successfully at Ski Dubai. Organized in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and CRANK Fitness, the competition drew 209 athletes representing 49 nationalities, including 35 Emiratis, all racing in sub-zero conditions.

Emirati competitor Kalthoum Al Mazmi triumphed in the Women’s Individual Category (3km run and 5km cycling), finishing in 30:73 minutes. In the Men’s Individual Category, Syrian athlete Omran Shkair clinched first place with a time of 22:56 minutes.

In the Elite Women’s division, Czech athlete Michala Radomska secured victory by completing 5km of cycling and five laps of running in 36:68 minutes, while Norwegian Hallvard Borsheim won the Elite Men’s title with a time of 27:82 minutes.

Colombian team Comando Group dominated the Teams Category, clocking an average time of 19:63 minutes.

Ski Dubai is also preparing to host the 16th edition of the Ice Warrior Challenge, one of the city’s top endurance events, this coming September.
