emirates7 - On Sunday, Dubai launched the App Olympics, a competition aimed at recognizing excellence in mobile application development. The announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, on X (formerly Twitter).

The competition features four categories: Best Youth App, Most Impactful App, Most Innovative App, and Industry of the Year: Mobile Gaming.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that this initiative aligns with "Dubai's outstanding achievements across various sectors, particularly in the digital economy, which is a crucial pillar in realizing the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33)."
