M.O.D UAE continues to lead on 2nd day of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Round 4

emirates7 - On the second day of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship – Round 4 (Gi), M.O.D UAE continued to dominate, securing first place at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah and maintaining its lead for a second consecutive day. Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club claimed second place, while Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club finished in third.

The event, featuring competitions for youth and kids categories, attracted around 850 male and female participants from various clubs and academies across the UAE. Competitions for the Boys U14 and U16 categories are scheduled for the following day.

The second day of the championship was graced by notable figures including Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and President of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union; Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of the Crown Prince of Fujairah; Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Yousef Abdullah Al Batran; and Sheikha Al Kaabi, Member of the Federal National Council.

Yousef Abdullah Al Batran praised the young athletes, stating, "Today, we saw impressive performances from these athletes, who exhibited great determination in a sport that demands both physical strength and skill. This is a testament to their talent and the success of our initiatives to promote the sport among younger age groups."

He added that the day’s competitions highlighted the children's determination to win and earn points for their clubs, demonstrating their sense of responsibility. "With each passing day, they are internalizing the values of jiu-jitsu, along with essential life skills such as patience, resilience, and self-confidence," he said.

Sheikha Al Kaabi expressed her delight at attending the event and participating in the awards ceremony. She remarked, "Jiu-jitsu has become an integral part of many households in the UAE and is gaining popularity among children and families. We are optimistic about the future success of Emirati jiu-jitsu athletes."

Ibrahim Al Hosani, Technical Director of Jiu-Jitsu at Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, noted the club's strong presence, with 135 athletes competing, all of whom performed exceptionally well. "The level of skill and precision shown by these young athletes is outstanding, reflecting the efforts of our clubs and academies. They have not only promoted the sport but also nurtured a new generation of champions," he said.

Fadi Bouri, the father of Ameer Bouri from Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, shared his excitement over his son's victory in the Kids 2 white belt category. "I am thrilled with Amir's achievement. We are looking forward to more great results in upcoming championships. I would like to thank the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation for organizing these events, which enable our children to excel at a young age and guide them toward professional growth," he said.
