Bodour Al Qasimi chairs advisory meeting to drive AUS’ future growth

emirates7 - Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), led the annual meeting of the Advisory Council of Development and Outreach (ACDO), reflecting on the university’s accomplishments in advancement over the past year and outlining plans for future growth.

The meeting served as a crucial platform for council members to offer feedback on initiatives, discuss ways to enhance AUS’ impact, and explore strategies to elevate its reputation both locally and internationally.

In her opening remarks, Sheikha Bodour emphasized the council’s vital role in the university's ongoing development. She stated, "AUS is growing as a hub of innovation and research, and today’s discussions have reaffirmed our shared vision for its future. The council's insights and dedication are crucial to advancing the university’s strategic priorities. Together, we will further strengthen AUS as a leader in learning and discovery, contributing to intellectual and economic growth in Sharjah and beyond."

The meeting concluded with Chancellor Dr. Tod Laursen outlining AUS’ priorities for the coming year.

ACDO was established in January 2023, with the approval of the AUS Board of Trustees, to focus on building partnerships, developing resources, and fostering outreach at local, regional, and international levels. Its efforts align AUS’ initiatives with Sharjah’s socioeconomic goals while supporting excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.

The 20-member council, which includes notable AUS alumni and business leaders from around the world and the region, underscores the university’s commitment to expanding its influence and collaborations across various sectors.
