emirates7 - UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Tirana today for a working visit to the Republic of Albania, where he held discussions with Albanian Prime Minister His Excellency Edi Rama to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Rama welcomed His Highness and the accompanying delegation at the Prime Minister’s Office (Kryeministria), expressing confidence that the visit would open new paths for cooperation and support the development goals of both nations.
The leaders reviewed the growing ties between the UAE and Albania, focusing on expanding collaboration in key areas such as trade, the economy, renewable energy, food security, and technology.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts and advocating for greater global cooperation to promote peace, stability, and security.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to cultivating strong partnerships in the Balkans, identifying Albania as a key ally. He highlighted the UAE’s dedication to development-based relations built on shared interests and mutual respect.
Both parties reiterated their determination to deepen bilateral relations in ways that deliver long-term benefits to their countries and people.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Rama awarded His Highness the ‘Benemerenti’ medal—the highest civilian honor granted by the Albanian Prime Minister—in recognition of his vital contributions to enhancing UAE-Albania relations.
