Emirates Courier Express expands to Australia

emirates7 - Emirates has extended its Emirates Courier Express service to Australia, marking a significant step just months after the service was first introduced. The move highlights the airline’s dedication to transforming the international delivery landscape.

The Courier Express service will now operate directly into Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, with 70 weekly flights serving these key Australian cities.

With a flight schedule aligned for seamless connections between Australia, Europe, and the Middle East, Emirates Courier Express is positioned to deliver packages from door to door within just a few days—among the fastest in the industry.

Dennis Lister, Emirates SkyCargo’s Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation, emphasized Australia’s importance from the start of the service's development. "Australia presents logistical challenges and has traditionally been underserved, so our frequent flights, direct access, and adaptable service will offer real advantages to both businesses and consumers,” he stated.

While consumer confidence in global eCommerce continues to rise, only 6% of international shoppers are purchasing from Australia, according to the International Trade Administration. Delivery issues, including high costs and lengthy transit times, remain major obstacles. At the same time, the volume of small parcels arriving in Australia has surged by 45% over the past two years, reflecting a sharp rise in online shopping among Australian households.
