emirates7 - The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) is set to host the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) on September 10th and 11th at Expo Centre Sharjah, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Held under the theme “Communication for Quality of Life,” the forum serves as a global intellectual platform aimed at discussing the future of government communication and its vital role in tackling global challenges. It will gather prominent leaders, experts, and officials from across the world.
This year’s edition will concentrate on five key pillars: food security, education, public health, environmental transformation, and the green economy—all seen as crucial for improving quality of life.
Tariq Saeed Allay, SGMB’s Director-General, highlighted the forum’s dedication to addressing topics rooted in a broad developmental vision that prioritizes people at the core of communication strategies. He stated that “quality of life is a shared responsibility requiring smart and effective communication tools to raise awareness and aid decision-making.”
He further explained that the forum, recognized as a leading international platform for discussing communication issues, aims in this edition to exchange ideas and solutions that translate into practical programs fostering collective action toward inclusive and fair development goals.
Allay also emphasized that the variety of expertise and viewpoints present at the forum enriches the dialogue, giving it both human and professional depth.
The event will explore how government communication can drive positive change by raising awareness about sustainable food practices, promoting innovation in agriculture, and supporting communities facing environmental and social challenges.
It will also focus on education’s role as a long-term communication tool that empowers generations to understand and adapt to change, equipping them with the skills needed to develop practical solutions to issues related to food security, health, and the environment.
IGCF 2025 will showcase how media and government messaging influence individual behaviors, encouraging both people and institutions to adopt more mindful and responsible lifestyles.
Additionally, the forum will discuss the opportunities the green economy offers for job creation and environmental justice, as well as the importance of communication in building partnerships that foster trust between governments and societies.
