emirates7 - Emirati riders secured both team and individual gold medals at the 120-kilometer FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses, held at the Arborea fields on the Italian island of Sardinia.
Organized under the supervision of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the event saw participation from around 100 riders representing 22 countries.
Rashid Saeed Hamad Al Ketbi of the UAE claimed the individual title for the fifth time in the UAE’s history in the championship, finishing with a time of 4:53:08 hours. Bahraini rider Ma'youf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi took second place with a time of 5:02:46 hours, while a French rider secured third place, completing the course in 5:18:08 hours.
The Emirati team, consisting of riders Salem Hamad Malhouf, Rashid Saeed Al Ketbi, Saeed Ahmed Al Shamsi, Saeed Salem Al Muhairi, and Saif Jumaa Beljafla, also won the team title. The French team placed second, and the Italian team finished third.
This victory marks the UAE's fifth title in the championship over the past decade. The UAE’s golden run began at the 2014 World Championship in Italy, with subsequent wins in 2015 (Italy), 2018 (Slovakia), 2019 (Pisa, Italy), and 2021 (Sardinia), before securing their fifth title in Sardinia in 2024.
