ADFD launches first live radio programme about sustainability in UAE

emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has launched "Sustainable Awareness," the UAE's first live radio program dedicated to sustainability, aligning with the country’s initiative to make 2024 a "Year of Sustainability."

This program aims to enhance awareness of environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues, showcasing the UAE's commendable record of sustainable practices. It will also highlight the contributions of national institutions and their partnerships with countries worldwide to tackle sustainability challenges and promote innovative solutions that align with sustainable development goals, facilitating the global shift toward a green economy.

Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ADFD, expressed excitement over the program's launch, emphasizing its alignment with the UAE’s commitment to preserving its developmental legacy and the Fund’s strategic goal of building a prosperous, sustainable future for future generations. He noted that "Sustainable Awareness" aims to deepen the local community's understanding of sustainability concepts while highlighting the UAE's heritage in this area.

The educational program will feature best practices, quality initiatives, and development projects that support sustainable development goals, enriching Arabic studies with relevant knowledge about sustainability.

Broadcast on Noor Dubai Radio, the program will consist of 13 episodes, each focusing on various sustainability topics through engaging dialogues with officials, experts, and speakers in the field. It will also include cultural competitions related to sustainability, with valuable prizes provided by the Fund.

Discussions will cover sustainability across different sectors, the developmental legacy of ADFD, and its impact on community prosperity. Additionally, the program will address the role of national industries in supporting UAE export development policies and diversifying the local economy.

It will also tackle climate change by reviewing global practices for mitigating its effects, transitioning to clean energy, and focusing on the outcomes of the historic UAE Consensus and the success of COP28 in balancing development with climate action. Other pertinent topics will also be explored throughout the program.
