emirates7 - The UAE National Youth Muay Thai Team earned an impressive total of nine medals at the 2024 IFMA Youth World Championships, held in Bangkok, which concluded on Friday. The competition, featuring 3,000 athletes from 92 nations, was organised by the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA).
The UAE team secured one gold, one silver, and seven bronze medals. Their athletes demonstrated strong performances from the round of 32, progressing through the rounds of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals. Aziz Al Hammadi claimed the gold medal in the 12-13 age group, 48kg weight division, becoming the champion.
In the 12-13 age group, 63kg weight class, Ahmed Abu Geish won a silver medal. The bronze medalists included Rakan Ahmed, Saeed Al Mazrouei, Saeed Ahmed, Mariam Al Suwaidi, Jasser Ahmed, and Khaled Suleiman. Additionally, Ahmed Abu Jeish and Mohammed Karim earned bronze in the Muay May event for the 14-15 age group.
