Special Olympics UAE Athletes Shine at Malta Games 2024, Securing 15 Medals

emirates7 - The Special Olympics UAE delegation proudly returned to Abu Dhabi today after a stellar performance at the Special Olympics National Games Malta 2024, where they secured a total of 15 medals—5 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze.

Competing from September 12 to 15, 2024, the UAE team showcased their talents in swimming, table tennis, athletics, football, and bocce. Their impressive achievements included a gold medal, a silver, and a bronze in swimming, alongside a commendable fourth-place finish.

The highlight of the Games was the UAE Men's Football team, which claimed the top spot and earned a well-deserved gold medal. In athletics, UAE athletes excelled, winning two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes, as well as achieving fourth and sixth place finishes. The table tennis competitors also made their mark, bringing home one gold, three silvers, and one bronze, in addition to a fifth-place finish. In bocce, the team finished in fourth place.
