Airways company mistakenly sells 300 heavily discounted first class fares

emirates7 - Qantas Airways has pledged to refund or rebook flights for hundreds of customers after the airline mistakenly sold first-class tickets at significantly reduced prices.

On 22 August, some first-class fares for flights between Australia and the US were listed online at up to 85% below their usual price, with round-trip tickets available for under $5,000—about $15,000 less than the standard fare. These fares were also roughly 65% cheaper than the business class options.

Approximately 300 customers took advantage of the error and booked flights during the eight hours the discounted fares were available.

A Qantas spokesperson stated that this was "a case where the fare was actually too good to be true," attributing the issue to a coding mistake.
