Ancelotti says he is not worried about Mbappe's start at Real Madrid

emirates7 - Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is not concerned about Kylian Mbappe’s slow start at the club, despite the France striker failing to score in his first two league matches.

Mbappe, 25, joined Real Madrid as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain in June, ending a prolonged transfer saga. Although he made an impressive debut by scoring in the UEFA Super Cup final, helping Real secure a 2-0 victory over Europa League champions Atalanta, he has not yet found the net in his two LaLiga appearances. He struggled in a draw against Mallorca and a narrow home win over Real Valladolid.

Ancelotti downplayed concerns about Mbappe’s goal drought, noting, "His last goal was on August 14th. It's only been two weeks since then, so there’s no reason to worry. We are not worried as a club, and neither is he." He added that Mbappe is happy at the club, motivated, and working hard in training. Ancelotti also pointed out that Vinicius Junior, who has not scored this season, is not worried either.

Ancelotti acknowledged that a slow start is expected, especially after the retirement of key midfielder Toni Kroos and the adjustment of Mbappe to a new center-forward role. He explained that every season brings its own challenges due to changes in team structure and system. Last year, the team also needed time to find its rhythm, often requiring late goals to secure results.

He emphasized that each player has unique attributes, and the team must adapt to those. "I didn’t ask Toni Kroos to be Aurelien Tchouameni last year, and I won’t ask Tchouameni to be Kroos. Each player has their own characteristics," Ancelotti said.

Currently, with a game in hand, Real Madrid is fifth in the LaLiga standings with four points, trailing leaders Barcelona by five points.
