emirates7 - Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested that Al Nassr is likely to be the final club of his football career and has no intentions of pursuing a coaching role once he retires from playing.
At 39 years old, Ronaldo is beginning his third season with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, marking his 24th season overall in a distinguished career that includes stints at Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al Nassr.
Throughout his career, Ronaldo has scored over 750 goals, won the Ballon d'Or five times, and secured league titles in England, Spain, and Italy.
Despite his impressive achievements, he has yet to win a trophy with Al Nassr. The team has finished as runners-up in the SPL for the past two seasons, coming second to Al Ittihad and then Al Hilal. They were also defeated by Al Hilal in the King’s Cup final, a match that saw Ronaldo visibly emotional.
The recent defeat in the Saudi Super Cup to Al Hilal saw Ronaldo express his frustration by storming off the pitch and refusing to accept his runners-up medal.
Nonetheless, Ronaldo has had a prolific run at Al Nassr, scoring 67 goals in 73 appearances and setting a record for 35 goals in the SPL last season, which he described as one of the best seasons of his career.
“I don’t know if I will retire soon, maybe in two or three years, but I will probably retire at Al Nassr. I’m very happy at this club and enjoy playing in Saudi Arabia. I want to continue,” Ronaldo told Portuguese TV channel NOW.
Ronaldo scored in Al Nassr’s SPL season opener against Al Raed, which ended in a 1-1 draw. His next match will be against Al Feiha away on Tuesday.
