MoHAP launches unified national platform for health licences

emirates7 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has introduced the National Licensing Platform, an innovative initiative designed to unify and streamline the licensing process for healthcare professionals across the UAE.

Developed in collaboration with all national health authorities, the integrated platform incorporates an advanced, entrepreneurial business model in partnership with key stakeholders. It consolidates all licensing services for medical professionals, significantly reducing processing time and improving user experience by simplifying procedures and requirements.

As part of the Ministry’s broader strategy to enhance the regulation, flexibility, and competitiveness of the healthcare sector, the platform caters to a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, allied health specialists, technicians, and other qualified personnel.

Functioning as a comprehensive digital system, the platform optimizes the governance of licensing procedures by centralizing registration, managing and verifying professional qualifications, and implementing unified evaluation and accreditation standards. It also issues a standardized professional practice license, recognized across the UAE.

Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, emphasized that this initiative marks a transformative step in advancing the licensing framework nationwide. “Our commitment lies in developing innovative regulatory mechanisms that align with the rapid progress of the healthcare sector while meeting the needs of medical professionals. Through the National Licensing Platform, we aim to build a globally competitive health system supported by a digitally governed, integrated framework driven by highly skilled specialists,” he stated.

He further highlighted that the platform facilitates the seamless movement of healthcare professionals across federal, local, and private sector entities by unifying licensing standards and enhancing collaboration among healthcare institutions. This initiative will not only streamline recruitment processes but also ensure that patients receive high-quality healthcare services aligned with global best practices.

Dr. Al Amiri also noted that the platform standardizes the recognition of medical degrees, professional experience, and evaluation criteria, ensuring uniformity in doctor recruitment and employment policies nationwide. By eliminating inconsistencies in specialized healthcare services, the initiative strengthens the country’s overall healthcare delivery.

Alla Mansour, Acting Director of the Licensing and Accreditation Department at the Ministry, underscored the significance of the platform as a major advancement in the digital transformation of healthcare regulation.

She highlighted that the initiative aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) program, offering a streamlined and innovative licensing process for health professionals in the business sector. “This unified platform delivers comprehensive solutions for licensing and renewal processes, ensuring compliance with the highest international standards. It plays a pivotal role in fostering a regulatory environment that promotes innovation and guarantees the sustainability of healthcare services,” she added.

Mansour further emphasized that the platform supports the Ministry’s strategic vision of establishing a well-governed, integrated healthcare system while driving the modernization of the regulatory framework for the health sector.
