UAE President receives Georgian Prime Minister

emirates7 - UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today welcomed His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, during his official visit to the UAE.

At their meeting in Qasr Al Shati, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed extended a warm reception to the Georgian Prime Minister, wishing continued prosperity for Georgia and its people. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and Georgia, particularly in key sectors such as investment, trade, economy, agriculture, renewable energy, the environment, and sustainability—areas of mutual development focus for both nations.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common interest, especially those related to peace, security, stability, and development.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to building strong partnerships worldwide, particularly in areas that promote mutual development. He highlighted the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries, which came into effect last year, calling it a significant milestone in their economic relations and underscoring the UAE’s dedication to advancing shared objectives for development.

Prime Minister Kobakhidze thanked His Highness for the warm reception and expressed Georgia’s commitment to enhancing its collaboration with the UAE, focusing on shared interests and supporting sustainable economic growth and prosperity.

Both leaders expressed confidence that UAE-Georgian relations will continue to strengthen, leveraging numerous opportunities aligned with their goals for sustainable development.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; and other senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Kobakhidze witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on investment to support development projects in Georgia. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills Abu Dhabi, on the UAE side, and His Excellency Levan Davitashvili, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and His Excellency Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, on the Georgian side, in the presence of several officials from both countries.
