emirates7 - The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) under the Department of Municipalities and Transport has been awarded the prestigious IRF Global Road Achievement Award (GRAA) in the “Traffic Management and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)” category for its “Mobile Traffic Management Centre.”

The “Mobile Traffic Management Centre” was launched in November 2023 as part of Abu Dhabi Mobility’s commitment to developing innovative systems for effective road traffic management during major events, special occasions, and emergencies.
The Mobile TMC enables rapid responses to traffic disruptions, reducing congestion and ensuring smoother traffic flow. Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, it is designed to monitor and manage traffic on Abu Dhabi’s roads effectively.
The project leverages advanced tools such as artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and geomatics (GIS) to operate a network comprising 645 traffic signals and 1,665 surveillance cameras, enabling real-time monitoring and analysis.
The Mobile TMC plays a vital role in traffic management, particularly during large-scale events, by facilitating collaboration among decision-makers from various authorities. This enhances traffic flow, minimizes congestion, and improves safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
