UAE, Uruguay to join forces in clean energy, climate action

emirates7 - The UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Uruguay's Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.

The agreement was signed by Nawal Al Hanaee, Director of the Future Energy Department at MoEI, and Christian Nieves Lauz, National Energy Director of Uruguay's Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining. The memorandum outlines plans for both nations to exchange knowledge and expertise, host high-level discussions, and organize workshops in various energy-related areas.

Al Hanaee highlighted that such collaborations play a vital role in advancing the transition to clean and renewable energy. She noted that the partnership would new opportunities for growth and development, supporting both countries' efforts to diversify their energy portfolios and increase reliance on sustainable energy sources.

She further stated that the agreement represents a shared dedication to fostering strategic partnerships, establishing a framework for joint efforts in critical sectors like clean energy and climate action, benefiting both nations in the long term.
