emirates7 - The Ministry of Economy and Tourism has formalized two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office to enhance collaboration in developing the UAE’s intellectual property (IP) framework in accordance with global best practices.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, during the UAE delegation’s participation in the 66th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva.

These agreements focus on key strategic areas such as digital transformation, talent development, and closer cooperation in industrial property and patent registration.
