emirates7 - As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Dubai has launched the second edition of an initiative aimed at strengthening the role of families in fostering national identity and instilling social and Islamic values in the younger generation.
This year’s edition of the "Mu'adhin Al-Farij" initiative introduces a new model emphasizing the family’s contribution to enhancing national identity.
Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has announced a new initiative titled "Quran in Every Home."
The initiative aims to ensure that every household in Dubai has a copy of the Holy Quran, promoting religious awareness and making the Quran more accessible. It also encourages families and individuals to recite and reflect on the Quran during Ramadan. Copies of the Quran will be distributed at various mosques across Dubai, especially those with high attendance.
Sheikh Hamdan also directed a 50% expansion in the number of mosques participating in the "Mu'adhin Al-Farij" initiative, with an added focus on engaging children aged 6-14 years.
Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, expressed optimism that this year’s edition would identify promising talents to support the initiative’s objectives.
Adhan Contest
The initiative seeks to strengthen children’s connection to mosques by encouraging their participation in raising the Adhan (call to prayer) and motivating them to perform Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, fostering a deeper bond with the mosque community.
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai announced that registration for an Adhan contest will open on January 13 and close on February 7, with evaluations by the judging committee beginning on February 10.
Submissions will be evaluated based on specific criteria designed to highlight exceptional and distinguished voices for delivering the Adhan.
