Dubai Press Club concludes Economic Content Creators Programme

emirates7 - The Dubai Press Club (DPC) recently concluded its Economic Content Creators Programme, a specialized media training initiative supported by the UAE Ministry of Economy. This program was designed to empower aspiring content creators and emerging media professionals with advanced skills in reporting on economic trends and developments.

Organized in partnership with prominent media and academic institutions and guided by experienced professionals, the initiative marked the initial phase of the Dubai Content Creators Programme, launched by DPC in November 2024. The program highlights DPC's commitment to enhancing regional media capabilities and improving the quality of digital content.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to fostering human capital and promoting efficiency in alignment with the leadership’s vision for advancing the media and economic sectors. He described the Economic Content Creators Programme as a model of collaboration between government entities and the media sector, aimed at preparing a new generation of media professionals to effectively interpret and communicate global economic trends, thus supporting the UAE’s sustainable development goals.

Bin Touq stated, “Empowering young media talent to accurate and impactful economic content is essential for driving the UAE’s economic growth. Such content plays a critical role in promoting national strategies for economic prosperity. This program reflects the Ministry’s commitment to cross-sector collaboration, which is crucial for achieving the goals of the 'We the UAE 2031' vision to establish the UAE as a global hub for innovation and the new economy.”

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of DPC, thanked the UAE Ministry of Economy for its support and contributions, which provided participants with the knowledge needed to high-quality economic content. She remarked, “At DPC, we are dedicated to equipping young media talent with tools to produce impactful content that aligns with Dubai’s status as a global leader in media innovation. In today’s digital age, economic content is pivotal for analysing trends, identifying opportunities, and fostering an informed society. We began the Dubai Content Creators Programme with a focus on economic content, recognizing its importance for community development and economic growth.”

Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of DPC, highlighted that the UAE Ministry of Economy conducted a series of impactful lectures over nearly a month, providing participants with key insights into economic concepts, global economic drivers, and techniques for interpreting and presenting economic data and statistics effectively.

Mahfoudha Abdullah, Specialist in Media Talent Development at DPC, explained that the broader Dubai Content Creators Programme consists of multiple phases covering various fields such as culture, sports, and community. Each phase aims to equip participants with specialized knowledge and practical skills to produce engaging content for diverse audiences.

Participants lauded DPC’s efforts to promote media excellence, noting its role in empowering professionals through initiatives over the past two decades. The Economic Content Creators Programme included sessions by experts in economic reporting, digital storytelling, and emerging technologies.

Highlights included a session by content creator Dr. Mohanad Alwadiyah, who shared strategies for producing finance and real estate content and monetizing it through social media. Hiba Hussein from SAE University College Dubai conducted a session on using infographics to present complex economic data visually.

A workshop led by Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO of Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), focused on integrating AI tools into financial reporting and market analysis, including creating interactive 3D graphics and advanced analyses.

Ahmed Alastad, Director of Economic Information and Studies at the Ministry of Economy, provided an in-depth analysis of the UAE’s economic landscape, discussing challenges and opportunities.

Further sessions included a Google-led workshop by journalist Pamela Kesrouani on advanced search techniques, enhancing information accuracy, and combatting misinformation. Jean Fares, CEO of Investopia, collaborated with the Ministry of Economy to offer insights into economic fundamentals and translating complex concepts into user-friendly content through visual tools.

The program concluded with a CNBC Arabia workshop led by Mustafa Witwit, which focused on creating high-quality visual content for economic reporting, particularly mobile-based content tailored for digital platforms.
