China's manufacturing activity remains in expansion zone in December

emirates7 - China's manufacturing sector maintained its recovery in December, with the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) remaining stable at 50.1 percent, marking the third consecutive month of expansion, according to data released on Tuesday.

China Central Television (CCTV) reported that the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics' Service Survey Centre, noted that the momentum of economic recovery persisted in December, bolstered by the effects of macroeconomic policies.

The recovery of market demand has gained pace due to the implementation of existing policies and the introduction of new stimulus measures. The New Orders Index rose to 51 percent, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, extending its growth streak to four months.

Exports also showed gradual improvement, with the New Export Orders Index rising to 48.3 percent, up by 0.2 percentage points from November, marking its second consecutive month of growth.

The equipment manufacturing PMI reached 50.6 percent in December, reflecting five consecutive months of expansion and continued strong performance. By enterprise size, the PMI for medium-sized enterprises increased to 50.7 percent, entering the expansion zone for the first time in eight months, while large and small enterprises remained in positive territory.

For the fourth quarter, the average manufacturing PMI was 50.2 percent, a notable improvement compared to the 49.4 percent recorded in the third quarter.
