emirates7 - The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has partnered with Pact Carbon to launch a pilot project aimed at promoting the use of electric bicycles. The agreement also includes conducting a study to assess opportunities for expanding the collaboration, aligning with the UAE’s national goals for advancing green and sustainable mobility.

Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, highlighted the significance of the initiative in the UAE's efforts to achieve sustainable transportation, lower carbon emissions, and foster a transition to eco-friendly mobility solutions.

"The ministry is dedicated to advancing green mobility and achieving climate neutrality by minimizing the carbon footprint in the transportation sector and encouraging the adoption of sustainable options like electric bicycles," Al Olama stated.

He further emphasized that the partnership demonstrates MoEI’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the private sector, leveraging expertise, and developing innovative technologies to enhance the transportation industry. The pilot project aims to reduce emissions, promote green mobility awareness among the public, and encourage innovation within the sector. Al Olama reiterated the ministry's dedication to working with partners to fulfill the UAE's ambitious vision for sustainability and prosperity for future generations.

Oleg Baltin, CEO of Pact Carbon, noted the importance of this agreement in creating impactful solutions for the transition to sustainable transportation.
