Launch of Winter National Awareness Campaign for Safety and Security at Fuel Stations

emirates7 - The Joint Committee for Safety and Security at Fuel Stations has launched the Winter National Awareness Campaign for Safety and Security at Fuel Stations. This initiative aligns with the holiday and camping season and will run from December 23, 2024, to January 23, 2025.

The campaign seeks to educate the public on essential safety protocols when refuelling at both land and marine fuel stations.

At land fuel stations, safety measures include prohibiting smoking, ensuring children are not left unattended in vehicles, and following specific refuelling instructions for motorcycles to prevent fuel leaks or fires.

For marine fuel stations, key safety guidelines include turning off engines before refuelling and securely fastening boats and jet skis during the process to prevent accidents.

Additionally, the campaign emphasizes the risks associated with flammable materials and the critical need to follow the instructions provided by station personnel to maintain safety for all.

Organized by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the campaign is conducted in partnership with the General Directorate of Civil Defence under the Ministry of Interior and major petroleum companies such as ENOC, ADNOC, and Emarat.
