The event, organized by the Department of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation at the League of Arab States, in collaboration with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, was attended by representatives from various Arab countries, including officials from ministries of sustainable development.
The two-day workshop included several key sessions. The first session focused on digital investment in the Arab region, addressing government digital transformation initiatives, strategic infrastructure investments, global digital transformation trends, and its role in achieving sustainable development. The second session discussed opportunities for boosting private investment and fostering foreign partnerships in digital projects.
On the sidelines of the workshop, the 16th meeting of the Arab Committee for Sustainable Development was held, both in person and via video conference. Chaired by the UAE, which holds the presidency of the Economic and Social Council for this session, the meeting saw the participation of representatives from 14 Arab countries, specialized Arab organizations, and representatives from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), UNESCO, the Islamic Development Bank, and civil society organizations. The committee's agenda covered 14 key topics, including initiatives such as eradicating hunger in the Arab region, the Arab Digital Platform for Sustainable Development, and sustainable financing.
