Sharjah Crown Prince chairs Executive Council meeting

Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, presided over a meeting of the Council on Tuesday at the Ruler’s office. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.

During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including financial performance, the current economic and financial situation, future growth plans, progress on government work in the emirate, and updates on development projects across various sectors.

The Council approved the draft general budget for Sharjah government departments and agencies for the year 2025, which included a comparison of actual expenditures and revenues of government and independent entities. The budget also featured performance indicators across sectors such as social development, government administration, infrastructure and capital projects, and economic development.

The draft budget was directed to be sent to the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) for further discussion and completion of its legislative session.

Additionally, the Council issued a decision regarding the formation of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee in Sharjah, which will be chaired by Dr. Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, Chairman of the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah. The committee’s members include key figures from various legal and government departments.

Another decision established a committee for the removal of abandoned and dilapidated buildings in Sharjah, which will be managed by Sharjah Municipality and consist of representatives from multiple government entities, including Sharjah Public Prosecution, Sharjah Police, Civil Defence, and others. The decision outlined the committee’s responsibilities, membership terms, and reporting procedures.

The Council also reviewed a report on sports events held in Sharjah's cities and regions, which are aimed at promoting sports culture and encouraging individuals to participate in various physical activities.
