Khalifa University Century Challenge to kick off February 1

emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Cycling Club and Khalifa University of Science and Technology are set to host the 4th edition of the Khalifa University Century Challenge on 1st February 2025. This event will feature two starting points—Abu Dhabi (190km) and Dubai (175km)—with both routes leading to the summit of Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, marking the second consecutive year of this challenge.

The Abu Dhabi leg will begin at Khalifa University's main campus, while the Dubai leg will start at the Al Qudra Cycling Track, with both groups converging at the Jebel Hafeet summit. Over 1,000 cyclists are expected to participate.

Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri, President of Khalifa University, expressed that the challenge continues to inspire the community to engage in sporting activities. He emphasized the event’s role in promoting health, wellness, and outdoor activities, encouraging people to shift away from sedentary lifestyles.

Al Nakhira Al Khaili, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, highlighted the club's ongoing mission to inspire university students to take up cycling. He noted the sport’s numerous benefits and its potential as a sustainable form of transportation.
