RTA launches 'Logisty’ platform for freight transport

emirates7 - Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with TruKKer, a leading regional digital freight platform, has introduced "Logisty," a new Digital Logistics Platform developed with private sector collaboration.

The platform aims to offer commercial transport services to businesses and customers, manage logistics and vehicle fleets, and provide on-demand booking and tracking features.

This initiative enhances the logistics sector and strengthens Dubai's position as a key logistics hub in the region.

"Logisty" revolutionizes freight transportation in Dubai by connecting customers with commercial transport providers and improving the user experience through efficient, reliable, and straightforward services.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the RTA, stated that the platform reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to boost Dubai's global competitiveness in finance, business, and economy. It also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), aimed at positioning Dubai among the top three economic cities globally.

Al Tayer emphasized that the platform aligns with the Dubai Commercial Road Transport & Logistics Strategy 2030, which aims to double the sector's contribution to the emirate's economy to AED16.8 billion, increase tech adoption in infrastructure by 75%, and enhance operational efficiency by 10%.

He added that the launch of "Logisty" highlights RTA's commitment to innovative, high-quality solutions that meet residents' needs and promote partnerships with the private sector. By collaborating with TruKKer, RTA aims to harness advanced technologies to provide secure, transparent, and efficient logistics solutions.

The platform enhances the logistics sector’s operational efficiency by integrating cutting-edge technology, as Dubai hosts over 10,000 commercial transport companies, and the sector has experienced a 34% compound annual growth rate in the past five years.

Key technological features of the platform include an AI-powered CBM Calculator that allows users to estimate shipment volume by uploading photos or videos. The platform will provide state-of-the-art solutions for freight transportation, keeping pace with the latest industry innovations.

With the rapid growth of e-commerce, Dubai has become a major logistics hub in the region. The commercial transport sector has also seen significant growth, with 351,000 registered vehicles and the creation of over 242,000 jobs.

In 2023, the transport and storage sector contributed AED31.4 billion to Dubai's GDP, accounting for 42.8%, with the highest growth recorded in Q2 at 7.8%.

The Commercial Road Transport & Logistics Strategy 2030 includes 17 projects focused on leveraging digital platforms, promoting data-driven technologies, and enhancing sector competitiveness. These initiatives encourage the use of innovative technologies and practices to drive sector growth.

"Logisty" will officially launch its customer services in December 2024, offering advanced freight transport solutions designed to deliver seamless, efficient, and reliable services, reinforcing Dubai’s leadership in the logistics sector.
