emirates7 - Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), led the council's first procedural session, where discussions were held on the formation of its permanent committees.
The SCC decided to retain the existing permanent committees, which include: the Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee; the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee; the Education, Youth, Culture and Media Affairs Committee; the Health, Labour and Social Affairs Committee; the Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Facilities Committee; the Family Affairs Committee; and the Recommendations Preparation Committee.
The composition of each committee was confirmed as follows:
Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee: Chaired by Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi, with Hamad Abdul Wahab Al Qawadi as Rapporteur, and members including Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Khalifa Mohammed Bu Ghanem, Obaid Ishaq Al Mazmi, Hamad Abdullah Hamed Al Riyami, and Rashed Saleh Al Hammadi.
Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee: Led by Rashid Abdullah bin Huwaiden as Chairman, with Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab as Rapporteur, and members Amer Mohammed Al Zarouni, Nabil bin Butti Al Muhairi, Abdullah Taresh Al Ketbi, Tariq Murad Mirza Al Belushi, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Belushi.

Recommendations Preparation Committee: Led by Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi as Chairman, with Dr. Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi as Rapporteur, along with members Ibrahim Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri, Issa Abdullah Al Kalbani, Sultan Ali Al Masafri, Obaid Ahmed Khasaw Al Naqbi, and Mohammed Ali Bin Salim Al Ketbi.
During the session, Dr. Ahmed Saleh Al Naqbi and Dr. Ruqayya Rashid Al Zaabi were elected as observers, with Dr. Al Zaabi becoming the first woman to hold this position since the council's inception. This reflects the council's commitment to empowering women and enhancing their participation in the parliamentary domain.
The next session, scheduled for October 24th, will focus on discussing a proposed law to regulate the operations of the Sharjah Digital Department.
