emirates7 - The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is taking part in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2024, organized by the General Authority for Literature, Publishing, and Translation, under the theme "Riyadh Reads." The event is being held at King Saud University and runs until 5th October.
Fadel Hussein Bussaim, Deputy Director of the Sharjah International Book Fair and SBA pavilion supervisor, highlighted the Authority's dedication to promoting Sharjah's rich cultural heritage and connecting with the Saudi audience and local publishers. He invited them to participate in the upcoming Sharjah International Book Fair.
Bussaim also underscored the SBA's support for publishers, mentioning several initiatives such as a $4,000 translation grant for the book of the year, a $1,500 grant for children's books, and the Tarjuman grant, which provides up to $750,000 for exceptional translations that highlight Arab and Islamic culture.
In addition to tackling challenges faced by past participants, the SBA pavilion will feature a range of publications, including children's and young adult books, works by the Ruler of Sharjah, and historical texts.
