emirates7 - The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the launch of the National Civil Aviation Cybersecurity Guidelines, a crucial framework designed to safeguard the safety, confidentiality, and availability of aviation systems for its civil aviation partners.

In its statement, the GCAA emphasized that with the increasing digital transformation, the aviation industry has become more interconnected than ever, creating a greater need for robust cybersecurity measures.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, explained that these guidelines were developed in line with global standards, recommendations, and best practices, following the launch of the National Civil Aviation Cybersecurity Policy.

He noted that the guidelines serve as a resource for aviation partners, helping them to meet national requirements aimed at protecting civil aviation systems from potential cyber threats.

Al Suwaidi also emphasized that the guidelines are regularly updated to address emerging cybersecurity risks in this critical sector, ensuring the continued protection of aviation systems.

He further highlighted that the guidelines will play a key role in ensuring the resilience and sustainability of the UAE’s civil aviation sector.
