emirates7 - The UAE Cybersecurity Council has announced the successful completion of a new series of specialized training courses as part of the “Cyber Sniper” initiative. This comprehensive cybersecurity training program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of UAE government employees in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
Launched last year by the Cybersecurity Council in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), the Cyber Sniper initiative features training delivered by leading international cybersecurity experts, including SANS, EC-Council, Offsec, and CyberGate Defense. The initiative is a crucial component of the council’s strategy to safeguard the nation’s digital infrastructure, support secure digital transformation, and enhance government entities' ability to defend against and address emerging cyber threats.
Participants received training in “ethical hacking” and cybersecurity protocols, equipping them with the expertise to understand cyber-attack methods, identify vulnerabilities, and test information systems and networks.
Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, emphasized that the Cyber Sniper initiative reflects the country’s dedication to becoming a global leader in cybersecurity. “This initiative is integral to developing a robust national workforce skilled in protecting critical infrastructure and effectively addressing evolving cyber threats,” Dr. Al Kuwaiti stated.
The Cyber Sniper initiative is a cornerstone of the Council’s strategy, aligned with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, aimed at securing the nation's digital infrastructure, fostering safe digital transformation, and enhancing the readiness and capabilities of government agencies to tackle emerging cyber threats.
