emirates7 - The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) organised the environmental exhibition “A Step Towards Sustainability” in Sharjah Natural History and Botanical Museum. The exhibition will last until the end of January, and aims to raise community awareness on the importance of sustainable development and preserving a pollution free environment.
Maitha Darwish Al Belushi, a scientific researcher at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, stated that the “A Step Toward Sustainability” exhibition, organised by EPAA until the end of January, aims to shed light on the danger of consuming harmful materials such as plastic.
Al Belushi stressed that the UAE has paid attention to sustainable development, by establishing cities that rely on alternative energy, including Masdar City and Sharjah Sustainable City.
Speaking exclusively to "Sharjah 24", Al Belushi explained that part of the exhibition is dedicated to life under water, ways to preserve marine life, and the danger of plastic to fish and marine mammals.
