emirates7 - Ras Al Khaimah recently hosted the “Ras Al Khaimah Women’s Network” event under the theme “WISE – Women In Strength and Empowerment,” bringing together 50 senior female leaders to inspire, support, mentor, and celebrate women in leadership.
The event included a panel discussion on “Women in Leadership” and was organized by the Emirate’s Investment and Development Office (IDO), which established the WISE network. This initiative aims to support women across IDO-related organizations, showcase female leadership, encourage peer connections, and lasting impact through regular engagement.
Held at the Mövenpick Resort, the gathering focused on empowering women both professionally and personally by fostering a strong, visible network of female leaders and promoting mentorship and leadership growth.
Mohammed Sultan Al Qadi, Managing Director of the IDO, emphasized, “By investing in women’s potential, we are investing in Ras Al Khaimah’s long-term success, resilience, and innovation.”
The event featured insights from top female executives, including a panel with Sherri DeSalvio, VP of Pre-Opening Planning and Strategic Initiatives at Wynn Al Marjan Island; Mandy Van De Velde, Senior VP of Investment at IDO; and Dr. Alida Scholtz, CFO at RAKEZ. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Lina Almarestani, Senior Manager at PwC Academy.
Future editions of the WISE initiative aim to grow the network further, with experienced female leaders taking on mentorship and coaching roles.
