emirates7 - Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, has met with Dr. Robert Habeck, German Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, where they discussed ways of enhancing bilateral strategic relations, as well as investment opportunities and joint cooperation in key areas.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Jaber conveyed the greetings of the leadership, government and people of the UAE to the Vice-Chancellor and the people of Germany.
Dr. Al Jaber stressed that the UAE leadership is keen to strengthen bilateral relations with the Republic of Germany, and is exploring opportunities for cooperation and joint investment in vital areas, including traditional and renewable energy specifically focusing on wind and solar, advanced industries, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, tourism, and agriculture, along with other promising areas that contribute to sustainable economic growth.
They also discussed the UAE's preparations to host the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in 2023, as well as ongoing efforts to address climate change, where Dr. Al Jaber highlighted the UAE’s continued efforts on climate action and the adoption, deployment and implementation of renewable energy projects in the UAE and internationally.
Dr. Al Jaber and the German Vice-Chancellor also met with a number of CEOs of major German companies and businessmen from key sectors such as industry, energy and others.
The one day visit also included meeting with several ministers and officials from the German government, including Andreas Michaelis, State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office, and Jörg Kukies, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance, to discuss subjects of common interest and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
