emirates7 - Al Futtaim Education Foundation has signed an agreement with the prestigious, globally recognised French academic and law pioneer Panthéon-Assas University Paris II. The signing took place under the patronage and the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the University Leadership Council in UAE & the BUNYAN Initiative for the Capacity-Building of the UAE Youth, and in the presence of Omar Al Futtaim, CEO and Vice Chairman of Al-Futtaim Group and Chairman of the Al Futtaim Education Foundation.
The signing of this agreement is part of the initiatives to implement the Emiratisation strategy and plans of the Al-Futtaim Group and supports the overall UAE Government's Emiratisation plans in the interest of supporting human resources in the UAE.
Based on this agreement, the Al Futtaim Education Foundation will provide 20 university scholarships for talented meritorious students to study the Bachelor of Laws at the Panthéon-Assas University Paris II, in Dubai. In addition, both parties will collaborate in strengthening efforts in the fields of academic education and developing the capabilities of young Emirati talents.
The agreement was signed by Mira Omar Al Futtaim, Board Member of Al Futtaim Education Foundation and Chairperson of Al-Futtaim Emiratisation Council and Professor Guillaume Leyte, President of the Panthéon-Assas University Paris II, Dubai Campus and President of Sorbonne-Assas International Law School . Also in attendance were several high officials from both sides.
Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the signing of this agreement, emphasising the importance of holding such partnerships between private sector institutions and educational institutions to combine sincere efforts for the empowerment of young Emirati talent. At the same time, he congratulated the Honor students who received the Al Futtaim Education Foundation scholarship and wished them continued success.
For her part, Mira Omar Al Futtaim expressed her pride in concluding this distinguished partnership with the Panthéon-Assas University Paris II under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. The scholarships are provided for the duration of the degree programme and cover all applicable tuition fees.
