National Human Rights Institution approves operational plan

emirates7 - The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) Board of Trustees recently held its 15th meeting, chaired by Maqsoud Kruse, the Chairperson of the NHRI Board.

During the meeting, the Board addressed several key issues, including a review of the progress on implementing previous decisions and the General Secretariat's quarterly achievement report. This report covers 28 projects related to NHRI’s administrative, financial, human resources, and technical systems.

The Board also approved the budget and operational plan for 2025, which was prepared by the General Secretariat in alignment with NHRI’s strategic priorities. These priorities focus on four key areas: labor rights, women and children’s rights, rights of People of Determination, and the right to health and mental health.

The operational plan outlines the launch of 34 human rights programs, including initiatives like ‘Legislation Lab’ and ‘Knowledge Lab’ in human rights. It also includes the creation of specialized committees to carry out field visits and workshops aimed at raising awareness about human rights, in collaboration with various national entities.

Additionally, the plan involves the launch of ‘Manabir,’ a series of educational human rights episodes on YouTube, and the semi-annual digital publication, Rights Journal.

The Board also reviewed updates on the implementation of complaint systems and associated digital services, such as the NHRI mobile app, improvements to the online complaints page, and the establishment of a dedicated call center to manage complaints.
