Al Awar meets UAE citizens working in Majid Al Futtaim

emirates7 - Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, recently visited Majid Al Futtaim Group, where he met with a group of UAE nationals employed by the company. During the visit, Al Awar, accompanied by Ministry officials, attended a ceremony held by the Group to celebrate their significant achievements in Emiratisation.

The event was also attended by Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Mariam Majid Al Futtaim, a shareholder of the company.

Al Awar praised the private sector for its ongoing commitment to Emiratisation policies, emphasizing its unprecedented dedication to this vital national project. He highlighted the partnership between the government and private companies to recruit and train UAE citizens, which has enabled over 120,000 Emirati men and women to find employment across various sectors, contributing to the success of more than 23,000 companies.

The Minister commended Majid Al Futtaim Group for its strong sense of social responsibility, noting the company’s efforts to support government initiatives aimed at boosting the competitiveness of UAE citizens and enhancing their participation in the labor market.

Al Awar also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Emirati employees at Majid Al Futtaim, reiterating that the UAE’s leadership closely monitors Emiratisation efforts in the private sector and consistently issues directives to empower citizens and ensure job stability.

He pointed out that Emirati professionals benefit from significant support through the Nafis programme, which aims to an attractive and innovation-driven work environment, while offering incentives to companies that actively engage with Emiratisation policies.

Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to aligning with the UAE leadership's vision and advancing Emiratisation efforts. He emphasized the effectiveness of the partnership with the Nafis programme, noting that the company’s Emiratisation rate has risen from 3% in 2021 to the current 13.7%.
