Mansour bin Zayed donates 10,000 trees in support of 'Regreening our Mosques' initiative

emirates7 - His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has made a generous donation of 10,000 trees in support of the "Regreening our Mosques" initiative.

Launched by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat (GAIAEZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the initiative coincides with the UAE's 53rd Eid Al Etihad. Its goal is to plant trees in the courtyards of mosques across the nation, promoting environmental sustainability in line with the UAE's vision of balancing development with environmental preservation.

The initiative was officially launched in Abu Dhabi with the participation of Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of GAIAEZ, Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), and other officials. They took part in planting trees in a mosque courtyard to mark the beginning of the initiative.

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, highlighted that Sheikh Mansour's donation reflects his commitment to advancing sustainable environmental practices. She also noted that the initiative is in line with the "Plant the Emirates" program, inspired by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to green the UAE.

Dr. Al Darei commended Sheikh Mansour's generous contribution, emphasizing the leadership's continued support for charitable and community initiatives both within the UAE and internationally.
