emirates7 - The Emergencies, Crises, and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi (ADCMC) has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by earning the Resilient Enterprise Assessment Programme (REAP) accreditation from Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRI International). This recognition makes ADCMC the first specialized emergency management center globally to receive this certification, placing it among only three organizations worldwide honored annually by DRI International.
Since DRI International's inception in 1988, ADCMC now joins an elite list of accredited global organizations. The accreditation followed an in-depth evaluation of the center's institutional maturity, focusing on its operational efficiency in emergency management. The review examined a wide array of documents and procedures, including crisis communication plans, incident and emergency management strategies, training programs, planning and testing protocols, and other operational frameworks aligned with ADCMC's mission and future goals.
This recognition bolsters ADCMC's ability to respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, crises, and disasters while adhering to international standards. The evaluation process incorporated global benchmarks to enhance institutional resilience and comprehensively assess the center's role within the emergency management ecosystem.
Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Emergency, Crises, and Disaster Management Team, emphasized that achieving this accreditation reflects the center's forward-thinking approach. "It represents our commitment to establishing a robust system for managing emergencies, crises, and disasters while aligning with best international practices. This achievement underscores our dedication to future preparedness and positions Abu Dhabi as a model for efficiently addressing challenges."
Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of ADCMC, noted that the accreditation strengthens Abu Dhabi's capacity to effectively handle future emergencies. "As the first emergency management center globally and the first organization in the UAE to receive this accreditation, we reaffirm our commitment to creating proactive strategies that ensure institutional readiness and resilience in this specialized field," he stated.
