Ajman CP attends graduation ceremony of 561 students from Gulf Medical University

emirates7 - Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, attended the graduation ceremony for the 21st cohort of Gulf Medical University at Thumbay Medicity in Ajman. The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 561 students and was also attended by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar praised the ongoing efforts and support from the UAE leadership for higher education, highlighting that education is a key pillar of the nation's development. He acknowledged the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other Rulers of the Emirates for making education central to the UAE's ambitions and growth.

The Crown Prince commended Gulf Medical University for its successful academic journey, producing graduates who are well-equipped with knowledge, culture, and values, particularly in critical medical fields. He expressed his gratitude to the university’s management, faculty, staff, and technical teams for their efforts and congratulated the graduates on their achievements. Sheikh Ammar encouraged them to continue their learning and use the knowledge they gained to contribute to the development of their communities.

Gulf Medical University announced that its total number of graduates has reached 4,124, with the latest cohort including graduates from various colleges: 207 from the College of Medicine, 78 from Dentistry, 47 from Pharmacy, 151 from Health Sciences, 50 from Nursing, and 28 from the College of Business Administration and AI in Healthcare. The university’s student body includes individuals from 102 different nationalities.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen, founder and President of Thumbay Group, expressed his gratitude for the support the Emirate of Ajman provides to the university, noting that it marks its 27th year in private health education. He highlighted the role of Gulf Medical University in the development of the healthcare sector, alongside the Thumbay network, which serves around 11 million patients across hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and labs.

Professor Hossam Hamdy, University Advisor, urged the graduates to uphold the values they learned at the university and noted that Gulf Medical University and its hospitals would prioritize them for future training and employment opportunities. The university, offering 35 programs across various levels, also collaborates globally in research, particularly in cancer immunology and infectious diseases.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar, accompanied by Dr. Thumbay, presented degrees to the graduates and received a commemorative plaque in recognition of the university's achievements. At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Ammar honored several government and private entities for their collaboration with the university. He later met with Emirati graduates, reaffirming the Ruler of Ajman’s support for their continued success and encouraging them to pursue further academic excellence.
