UAE, Sweden sign judicial, legal cooperation agreements

emirates7 - The United Arab Emirates and Sweden formalized two agreements on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, aimed at enhancing cooperation in judicial and legal matters. These agreements cover the extradition of criminals and mutual legal assistance in criminal cases.

The accords were signed by Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Justice, and Gunnar Strömmer, Swedish Minister for Justice, in the presence of delegations from both nations.

During the ceremony, Al Nuaimi emphasized the strong partnership between the UAE and Sweden, highlighting their shared commitment to advancing relations through judicial and legal collaboration. He reaffirmed the Ministry's dedication to fostering global legal cooperation by integrating best practices from international courts and strengthening bilateral ties.

Strömmer expressed his satisfaction with visiting Abu Dhabi and signing the agreements, noting the solid foundation of judicial relations between the two nations. He remarked, "We are delighted to reinforce this partnership through these bilateral agreements, which will further enhance our legal and judicial cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both countries."
