Dubai Media City champions global collaboration to strengthen industry at GMC

emirates7 - Dubai Media City, one of the ten specialized business districts under TECOM Group PJSC, showcased the strength of multicultural creativity at the Global Media Congress (GMC), held at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, running until November 28.

For over 20 years, Dubai Media City has been a hub for creativity and knowledge sharing. It is part of TECOM Group's Media Cluster, which also includes Dubai Production City and Dubai Studio City. This cluster has experienced significant growth, with a 10% year-on-year increase in customer numbers during the first nine months of 2024, now supporting over 4,000 businesses and a workforce of more than 40,500 creative professionals.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, Dubai Production City, and Dubai Studio City at TECOM Group, emphasized the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of the media industry in a globalized landscape. He remarked, "Our participation in the Global Media Congress this year underscores our commitment to strengthening the creative economy through fostering globally impactful collaborations."

Dubai Media City is using its presence at GMC to share insights into the industry's future and to highlight the strength of its global creative community. It is also presenting key findings from the 2024 Digital Creative Economy white paper, developed in collaboration with Monstarlab and launched this September alongside TECOM Group’s Dubai Design District (d3). The white paper identifies AED 27 trillion worth of opportunities in the global digital creative economy by 2030 and examines the transformative role of technologies like artificial intelligence, Web3, and virtual reality in reshaping the media sector.

Startups from in5 Media, TECOM Group's media-focused entrepreneurship incubator located at Dubai Production City, are also participating at GMC. These startups, including AI Studio and Procreative, represent the forefront of media innovation. Additionally, in5’s Iinfinitty and BitAffix are featured in Innovate Stage & NexTech, offering a platform to showcase their cutting-edge applications and innovations tailored for the media industry.

This dynamic participation underscores Dubai Media City’s pivotal role in driving the growth of the creative economy and its dedication to nurturing talent and innovation in the region.
