UAE, Finland hold second Joint Committee meeting in Helsinki

emirates7 - The second round of the UAE-Finland Joint Committee took place on 22nd November in Helsinki, coinciding with a broader UAE trade mission to Finland.

The meeting was co-chaired by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jarno Syrjälä, Finland's Deputy Minister for International Trade.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation across various sectors, including trade and investment, food and water security, education, digitalization and AI, space, and transportation and logistics.

The session concluded with the signing of the minutes, marking the progress of the Joint Committee's discussions.

On the sidelines, Al Hajeri delivered a keynote speech at the inauguration of the first session of the UAE-Finland Business Council, which brought together senior officials and Council members from both nations. He highlighted the adaptability of the private sectors in both countries, emphasizing their crucial role in enhancing and accelerating trade and investment relations.

The visit concluded with a bilateral meeting between Al Hajeri and Wille Rydman, Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs. The discussion focused on identifying opportunities to further expand trade and investment ties between the UAE and Finland.
