RAK Ruler meets Emirati students, members of UAE Consulate in Guangzhou

emirates7 - H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, met with Emirati students studying at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou during his four-day visit to China's Guangdong Province.

Sheikh Saud also held a meeting with members of the UAE Consulate in Guangzhou, joined by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China, and Mariam Alshamsi, UAE Consul-General in Guangzhou, to discuss their efforts in promoting the UAE's interests abroad.

Sheikh Saud emphasized, "Our Emirati students abroad represent the nation’s identity and are a crucial asset in advancing the UAE's growth and enhancing its global and regional influence." He urged the students to maintain high moral standards, stay rooted in Emirati values and traditions, and approach their studies with dedication and resilience.

He also commended the UAE Consulate members in Guangzhou for their vital role in strengthening the UAE’s international position, stating, "It was a pleasure meeting our diplomatic mission in China, who set an excellent example of dedication and service to our nation. Their hard work is essential in advancing the UAE’s global standing and protecting the interests of our citizens."

During his visit to Guangdong, China’s most populous province, Sheikh Saud is set to sign an agreement between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong to enhance exchange and cooperation across several sectors of mutual interest.

Guangdong, with a population exceeding 126 million, boasts the largest economy of any Chinese province, with a GDP of $1.9 trillion (AED 6.98 trillion) in 2023. The province is a key manufacturing hub, excelling in industries such as electronics, automotive, textiles, pharmaceuticals, high-tech sectors, finance, and real estate.
