These sessions aimed to keep the local business community updated on the latest legal and regulatory changes across various industries, drawing 125 participants from the private sector.
The first workshop, organized in partnership with Habib Al Mulla & Partners and Andersen, focused on the development of the UAE Corporate Tax. It provided practical knowledge about corporate tax in the UAE, helping attendees understand key topics such as corporate tax applicability, Free Zone taxation, tax grouping, calculation approaches, transfer pricing compliance, and important legal issues.
Additionally, the workshop addressed industry-specific expense deductions, preparation for corporate tax returns, recent legislative changes, and tax accounting for both current and deferred taxes. This thorough session equipped participants to comply effectively within the changing tax environment.
The second workshop, conducted in collaboration with Fragomen UAE and Gateley Middle East, examined the UAE’s employment laws and regulations. It offered an overview of the labor market’s legal framework and practical advice regarding visa requirements, classifications, and work permits.
The session also covered critical employment topics including probation periods, compensation and benefits, performance management, grievance procedures, and end-of-service settlements.
