emirates7 - The UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) has unveiled the country’s first national Drone Cybersecurity Guidelines, developed in strategic partnership with Reach Digital—part of Reach Group and a leader in digital transformation and cybersecurity—and Shieldworkz, a firm specializing in OT/IoT and drone security technologies.
This initiative reflects the UAE’s forward-looking strategy to bolster national cybersecurity, enable secure digital transformation, and solidify the country’s role as a global center for innovation and technology.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, emphasized the importance of the new guidelines, describing them as a key step toward securing the nation’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ecosystem. He noted that they ensure drone operations across public, private, and industrial sectors are robust, secure, and in line with international standards.
“As UAV use expands into areas such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, and logistics, it’s essential to proactively address cybersecurity threats to safeguard airspace, infrastructure, and data integrity,” he added.
Malik Melhem, CEO of Reach Group, highlighted the company’s dedication to enhancing the UAE’s digital and cybersecurity frameworks. “This partnership underscores our strong commitment to national cyber readiness. We are honored to work with the CSC to deliver actionable and scalable cybersecurity measures tailored to the drone sector,” he said.
Mohammad Khaled, Reach Group’s Vice President of Growth and Business Transformation, commented, “Collaborating with CSC and Shieldworkz on this initiative not only strengthens the UAE’s stance on emerging tech security but also ensures that drone innovation can progress safely amidst increasing cyber threats to national airspace and infrastructure.”
